A space created for children

The project was close to Anna both as a public initiative and as a mother of three children. At its heart was the wish to create a modern, accessible space in Limassol where children and teenagers can do sport, meet friends and spend more time outdoors.

A park given to the city

Anna took part in developing the concept of City Skate Park and supported the project through the different stages of its delivery.

In December 2023 City Skate Park was gifted to the city. The 5000 m² sports space is built to Olympic standards and includes more than 36 elements for performing tricks.

The park is open to everyone, and entry remains free.

With the support and on the initiative of City Friends Club, a graffiti artwork by Zograff Studio was created at City Skate Park, complementing the visual concept of the park.

Other projects in Cyprus

City Skate Park is one of several public projects Anna Gubareva has taken part in creating in Cyprus.

Anna is the founder and CEO of the environmental organisation City Friends Club. The project appeared in 2021 and grew from a family initiative into a large-scale environmental organisation that today handles daily cleaning of city streets, runs volunteer and corporate clean-up events and develops environmental education across the island.

For her contribution to the urban environment and to environmental initiatives, the work of Anna and City Friends Club has been recognised with a number of awards, among them the Lion of Ancient Amathus, the Impact Driver Award from TechIsland and the Red Diamond Award.

Together with Alexey Gubarev, Anna also initiated two socially significant landmarks in Limassol — the Monument of Peace and Tolerance on the city seafront and the monument to the outstanding Cypriot film director Michael Cacoyannis.
